Green Supply Chains Mean Business for Laing O'Rourke
The success of 15 Laing O'Rourke Construction South preferred sub-contractor partners in improving their use of time, money and resources - via Fast-Track-14 - is being extended across Laing O'Rourke in the UK.
Committed supply partners are helping to drive forward Laing O'Rourke's environmental priorities with innovative efficiency and effectiveness gains directly aligned to the companies core business aims and aspirations, says Chris Scutt, Operations Director, Construction South.
Robust environmental management systems can improve performance, add stakeholder value and reinforce corporate responsibility, he believes, adding, "There is a public groundswell in environmental concern. Hopefully, we are a driver for long-term change, creating both a positive effect on the environment and sustainable business benefits."
Mr Scutt praised suppliers for their energy and enthusiasm in taking the environmental initiative within Fast-Track-14's systematic framework devised by ISYS International. The achievements of Laing O'Rourke's initial FT-14 groups have given the UK's largest privately-owned construction company confidence to contemplate wider strategic implications.
