Integrated Management Systems Presently, a number of internationally recognised management systems have been developed to tackle issues such as Quality, Environmental Protection and Occupational Health & Safety. They are all based upon similar specifications for management control involving policy, practice and people. Organisations have tended to implement management systems to address each of these issues separately, with the result that ultimately, they are operating several, independent systems. Clearly, operating multiple versions of essentially the same management system to try to cover different parts of the same issue i.e., business risk avoidance, is inefficient, demotivating for staff and more expensive for the organisation. We at ISYS, as our name implies, are in the business of helping you to integrate your separate Management Systems together into a single coherent framework. This is not quite as simple as it sounds. For any given organisation, the most appropriate and effective Integrated Management System (IMS) may vary in the degree to which management activities are combined. |
